Tucker House Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the legal governing body of Tucker House Renewal Centre.  We are always looking for new members to be involved in this vital aspect of Tucker House.  Please read the Criteria for membership below and contact Heidi Lasi at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Criteria for Membership on the Board of Directors   

Potential Board members should:

1.   Be committed to the development of a more sustainable society and observe the universal values of love of neighbour and care for nature.

2.   Subscribe to the Mission Statement of Tucker House Renewal Centre.

3.   Commit to a minimum of two years on the Board, and prepare for and attend all of its meetings (estimated at 3 hours every two months).

4.   Spend about 3 hours each month in additional Working Group or program work.   Current opportunties include: Green Gala Working Group, CSA/Garden volunteer, Seventh Generation Learning series volunteer, and more! .

5.   Participate in the annual orientation and planning retreat.

6.  Meet specific skill and experience gaps as identified by the Board.  Current expertise gaps include: legal, business, accounting, fundraising, volunteer coordination, publicity and marketing.  Representation gaps include francophone and Rockland area members.

7.   Not represent any other organization or interest that could create a conflict of interest.

8.   Participate in a three-month introductory period that includes:
• an exploratory interview with the Chair or designated Board member
• an orientation tour of Tucker House and grounds
• attendance at a Board meeting
• participation in at least one Tucker House program (if not involved in one previously)
