Welcome to Tucker House! Our mission is to inspire sustainable living.
We focus on environmental education, collaborative leadership for sustainability, and eco-spiritual retreats at our historic Georgian-style mansion.
New – Seeds for Sale!
Our first seeds are for sale from our new seed garden project! Our 2015 trial garden was most successful – yielding 25000 seeds – thanks to passionate volunteer work. Our garden is now certified organic by Ecocert Canada. We are proud to be part of a growing community of gardeners who preserve the past for a greener future. Learn more here
We want to share our gardening passion with you by offering the following heritage varieties for sale. Every sale helps our mission!
- Mille gousse yellow bean (50 seeds):
(around 50 days) This bush string bean variety had been grown in Rockland for years in the garden of Ms Vinette before being given to us to maintain the variety. Directly seed in the spring and plant in succession for continual harvest. ***Sorry out of stock***
- Big Orange tomato (25 seeds):
(Indeterminate height) Orange from the inside-out with a taste of sunshine! One of the best tomatoes I have ever tasted. The type is beefsteak and the sweet fruit can grow over 1lb! Need to plant indoors 6 weeks before last frost.
- Lipstick sweet Pepper (25 seeds):
Certainly one of the best peppers to grow in our region. The fruits turning to glossy red, are sweet and juicy. Need to be planted indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost.
- Aunt Molly ground cherry (50 seeds)
(70 days) An easy fruit to grow in the garden. The large bush can become 1m wide and provides plenty of fruits. The fruits, 2 cm in diameter, are encased in a papery husk that turns brown once ripe. The fruit has a unique taste that children love! You need to plant the seed indoor to have an optimum harvest.
